Child Fatality Review Team 
Columbus Public Health provides leadership to a multi-agency team reviewing deaths of children up to age 18 in order to understand why children die and to devise effective strategies to reduce or eliminate preventable child deaths in Franklin County. Based on its findings, the team makes recommendations to healthcare providers.  Findings are also released annually as a report.

Flu Surveillance for Columbus/Franklin County
Collects information on influenza (flu) and influenza like illnesses from October through May each year. Influenza reports by week for current flu season, and season summaries starting from 2004.

Immunization Assessment Tools for Medical Offices

• Maximizing Office Based Immunization (MOBI) - MOBI is a free one hour in-office CE quality improvement program provided by trained vaccine experts.
• Assessment, Feedback, Incentives, eXchange (AFIX) is free cooperative, confidential chart-review process which assesses immunization rates for a practice.

Project L.O.V.E. Immunization Partnership
A community partnership between Columbus Public Health, the Franklin County Health Department, Franklin County Commissioners, Central Ohio area hospitals, faith-based organizations and local businesses, working to assure that all Franklin County children are vaccinated by age 2.

TB Control Program 
The Ben Franklin TB Control Program provides TB screening, education, outreach, direct care services, and guidance concerning active TB disease and Latent TB infection in Franklin County. Along with providing general guidance about TB protocols, the TB Program can evaluate patients who have tested positive on the Mantoux skin test and are referred to us by other health care providers.

• Skin Tests - Guidance for Providers
  Please provide us and/or the patient with the date the skin test was placed, by whom, the date it was read, and the reading in number of millimeters. If you have already done a chest x-ray, send a copy of the x-ray with the patient to help us with the assessment. We can also help with the case management of people being treated for Latent TB Infection (LTBI).
• TB as a Reportable Disease
  Cases of LTBI are not considered reportable to your local health department. Active TB is a Class A-2 reportable disease. Any positive lab result concerning TB, any suspect TB case, or a confirmed case of active TB needs to be reported to your local health department by the end of the next business day.
